Lustro Italiano Professional Water Mark and Marble Etch Remover Repair Kit

The Lustro Italiano Professional Water Mark and Etch Remover Repair Kit is a complete kit that will provide all the products needed to repair, restore, and maintain marble, travertine, limestone counter tops. This marble etch repair kit will work on all types of marble including:

 • White marbles like carrara
 • Green marbles including verde marble.
 • Black marble.
 • Brown marble and materials such as emperador travertines

This marble etch remover kit will remove the acid dull spot on marble that was caused by lemon, lime, juice, vinegar, acidic cleaners, bathroom cleaners, etc. It will also remove water rings caused by glasses or other containers.

There are 4 items included in the Marble Water Mark and Etch Remover Kit:

 • Etch and Water Mark Remover
 • Stone Cleaner Spray
 • Ultra Premium Stone Sealer
 • Aerosol Stone Polish Spray

Why do you need these 4 products to repair and maintain polished marble?

If the stone has been etched, that means:

 1. The stone has not been sealed.
 2. If the stone was sealed the sealer was not effective.
 3. The stone has not been sealed within the last 1-2 years.
 4. The acid was left sitting on the surface for an extended period of time.

In any of these circumstances one thing is for sure. The acid that caused the etch and most certainly eaten through the surface and there is nothing protecting the stone.

The first thing that must take place is to see what caused the etching. This is important because it will help you to determine whether you have stains. If it was a clear liquid such as a cleaner that caused the etching, more than likely you do not have stains. Other products that can cause etching usually do not cause staining. These include:

 • Lemons
 • Limes
 • Margaritas

However, if the etching was caused by a substance such as orange juice, soda (soft drink), or another colored liquid, the stone may not only be etched but may also be stained. If there is discoloration and staining, you will need to first remove the stains from the marble. To remove a stain, use the marble stain remover.

We offer the marble stain remover separate from this package since not all etching requires the stain remover. Only etches that also have stains in the marble will require the stain remover.

WARNING: Lustro Italiano Stone Sealer does not provide anti-etch protection on marble surfaces. Use of acidic substances such as wine, tomato, citrus, coffee, etc. will etch the surface by creating a chemical reaction with the calcium carbonate present in marbles. For etching problems please use Etch Remover.

4 of 5 It was worth a try September 7, 2023

The products have easy to follow instructions and seem professional grade. I only used the etch remover and cleaner because I didn’t want to seal in the damage. I was unable to remove or diminish the etch damage after several applications and following all steps. I am looking for a professional to fix the vinegar etched spots, towel outline, and bottle rings on my limestone vanity tops. I will use the sealer and cleaner in the future.

5 of 5 Perfect! May 3, 2021
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Cleveland, OH United States
I left a towel soaked with Liquid Gold in our marble sink. It ruined the basin finish. Went to Big box -no help, then to stone countertop store and was given a card for a professional polish company contractor. Sent pictures to Lustro, they got back to me right away with advice. Ordered the complete package, etch paste, sealer, polish, cleaner on faith. The application was tedious but the finished surface was perfect. A couple weeks later we took delivery on a marble top coffee table. It wasn't cheap. I liked the pattern of the table top but there were major linear streaks on the surface that may have come from moisture and the shipping crate. These streaks would NOT clean off. Dont tell anyone but I used the Lustro etch remover with a random orbit polisher. I gently polished the whole coffee table in about 25 minutes. Cleaned, sealed and polished and the surface is now spotless. As you can tell I am a big fan of this product. Thanks!

1 of 5 Disappointed April 20, 2021
Reviewer: Karen Hudson from New London, MN United States
I expected a shiny new look after applying all the products on my travertine stone sink. Actually it doesn't look any different than it did before. For that amount of money, it was quite a disappointment.

LUSTRO ITALIANO REPLY:

Dear Karen,
We are sorry to hear that you were unable to get the results you expected. This kit is designed specifically to correct cases of etched stone. Unfortunately, etching is a destruction of minerals in the stone and cannot be given a "a shiny new look" using additive techniques. It is possible to get the stone to that point, but it requires a professional to come in and restore the surface by repeating the process that originally was used on the stone's surface by using polishing pads to remove the existing surface treatments. This process is possible, but not very practical for most cases.

Our etch repair kit is designed to remove the etch by very gradually blending the areas of the stone that contrast so the etching is much less visible while at the same time improving the area that suffered the damage. Since the product works gradually, some etches might require patience and some "elbow grease" to get the best results possible. Thank you for considering Lustro Italiano.
