Since Çimstone is a non-porous material, it is stain resistant. And even though it resists stains, it is not stain-proof. This means that it must be cared for according to the care instructions provided by the company. What is the approved way of caring for Çimstone? Without covering an exhaustive list of care and maintenance rules, There are some basic directions given by the company. One of the guidelines is:
"Avoid using below list of chemicals on Çimstone:
- Alkali products containing active hidroxide (such as drain openers)
- Chlorinated solvents such as trichloroethylene or methylene cloride (like paint thinner or paint strippers)
- Prolonged contact with extremely strong concentrated chemicals must be avoided.
In case of any accidental exposure to any of these damaging products, wipe up material immediately and rinse the surface throughly with plenty of clean water. Repeat if neccessary."
As you can see from the above quote - contrary to what you may have read on the Internet - you must be careful what you use to clean and maintaining your Çimstone surface with.
Another informative guideline about Çimstone is:
"Cleaning agents (general cleaning products sold on the market) with either a neutral or an almost neutral Ph balance should be preferred."
