Lustro Italiano Rust Remover Powder is designed to remove rust stains from the surface of various natural stone materials such as:
- Granite
- Marble
- Travertine
- Limestone
- Terrazzo
- Concrete
- Brick
- Sanded Grout
Rust Remover contains a special blend of chelates for removing rust stains from stone. By utilizing the stain process reversal technique, the Rust Stain Remover powder draws the stain out of the stone. NOTE: Calcium based stones (like marble) may etch and require repolishing.
As a rule of thumb, if a stain goes in, it can come out. This applies about 98% of the time. It is just a matter of finding the correct poultice that will draw that stain out. For rust stains near the surface or on the surface this rust poultice is what we recommend using. We offer a liquid rust remover for deep rust stains.
- Scoop out the needed amount of powder and apply water to make a toothpaste consistency.
- Cover with plastic wrap and make several toothpick holes in the plastic wrap.
- Wait 24-48 hours for the the powder to dry.
- Remove the poultice and the stain will be gone!
Using this rust remover will physically remove the polish off the surface, making the surface look dull. Some have misinterpreted this as a stain. However, it is not a stain it is a side effect of removing the rust stain from the stone. On calcium based stones, such as
marble, removing the rust will leave a dull spot that you will need to correct by using etch remover to replenish the luster. Afterward, you will need to reseal the spot that you treated using a marble stone sealer.
